"The most deadly poison of our times is indifference. And this happens, although the praise of God should know no limits. Let us strive, therefore, to praise Him to the greatest extent of our powers."

St. Maximilian Kolbe

God of mercy, we bless You in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who ministered to all who come to Him. Give Your strength to N., Your servant, bound by the chains of addiction. Enfold himlher in Your love and restore him/her to the freedom of God's children. Lord, look with compassion on all those who have lost their health and freedom. Restore to them the assurance of Your unfailing mercy, and strengthen them in the work of recovery. To those who care for them, grant patient understanding and a love that perseveres. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Saint Maximillian Mary Kolbe
(1894 - 1941)
PRAYER to Saint Maximilian Maria Kolbe for Families and Friends of Someone Addicted to Drugs
Saint Maximilian Maria Kolbe, your life of love and labor for souls was sacrificed amid the horrors of a concentration camp and hastened to its end by an injection of a deadly drug.
Look with compassion upon ___________________ who is now entrapped in addiction to drugs and whom we now recommend to your powerful intercession.
Having offered your own life to preserve that of a family man, we turn to you with trust, confident that you will understand and help.
Obtain for us the grace never to withhold our love and understanding, nor to fail in persevering prayer that the enslaving bonds of addiction may be broken and that full health and freedom may be restored to him / her whom we love.
We will never cease to be grateful to God who has helped us and heard your prayer for us. Amen.
Prayer imprisoned and addicted :
Dear Christ, Saint Maximilian was imprisoned in Auschwitz where he ministered to the captives and celebrated Mass by consecrating bread and wine that had been smuggled in. He was martyred after he voluntarily took the place of a young married prisoner condemned to die. Since he's the patron saint of drug addicts and people in prison, I ask him to intercede for the inmates in our jails. O Lord, heal their hearts and protect them from the evil that surrounds them. I also ask him to pray for the addicts in my family and my friends' families. O Lord, set them free from the prison of their addictions. Saint Maximilian, pray for us. Amen.

Pope Benedict XVI to drug dealers:
"Human dignity cannot be trampled upon in this way.
God will call you to account for your deeds."

Prayer to Venerable Matt Talbot Patron for help overcoming Alcoholism
God of Mercy, we confidently cry out to you in the name of your son Jesus Christ, who ministered to all who come to Him in faith.
Through the powerful intercession of your servant venerable Matt Talbot give your strength to all your children who are bound by the cains of alcohol addiction. Enfold them in Your Love and bless them with the gift of true peace. Lord, look with compassion on all who have lost health, relationship, careers and freedom due to alcoholism, Give them the assurance of your unfailing mercy, and strengthen them in the work of recovery. To friends and family who care for them, grant patient understanding and a love that perseveres. We ask this through Christ our Lord, Amen.
May God guide those with addiction to the right path, and to a full recovery, Amen.

"Meditate on God's Word and His promises for you.
Peter said to them,
"Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the holy Spirit. For the promise is made to you and to your children and to all those far off, whomever the Lord our God will call.
Act 2:38-39
Like a city whose walls are broken down is a man who lacks self control  Proverbs 25:28
Romans 12:1-2 says "And be not conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind."
If you're dealing with smoking , drinking ,drugs, lust, etc.  Get in that Word. Get your mind renewed and replace those thoughts with greater thoughts .
1 Corinthians 10:13. The devil wants you to think "I don't know if I can handle this temptation." But this verse says that God will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able. So, if you find yourself in a situation, be encouraged. You can get out of it. It's not impossible.
Conquer any Temptation :
Proverbs 16:32 says, “Better is a man who can rule his spirit (emotions, attitudes) than one who can capture a city.”
3 John 2 “I wish above all things that you would prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers" .
So as your soul goes, the rest of your life follows.
Gal 5:16 says, “I say walk in the Spirit and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh.”
Faith doesn’t say “I never have trouble.” Faith say, “Trouble doesn’t have me.” Faith doesn’t say bad things never happen.” It says, “I’m going to win. Jesus is on my side.”
The Bible … has reference to ‘repentance’ from sin, and this change of mind involves both a turning from sin and a turning to God” (cf. 2 Cor. 7:9-11). How then would a thief repent of sin? Not simply by stopping his stealing, but also by returning or restoring that which he stole (Luke 19:8-9). As one man once said, “A horse thief has not repented while he is still sitting in my saddle.” Similarly, drunkards should stop drinking (1 Cor. 6:10). The materialistic should stop coveting (1 Cor. 6:10), and those committing sexual immorality of any form – whether pre-martial, extramarital, or homosexual – must end these activities and relationships as well (1 Cor. 6:9; Rev. 2:18-23)."

2 Corinthians 5: 17 Anyone who believes in Christ is a new creation. The old is gone! The new has come!

1 John 2:14 says,
"I have written unto you young men, because you are strong, and the Word of God abides in you, and you are victorious over the evil one."

"I Can Do All Things Through Christ Who Strengthens Me" Philippians 4:13

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible. Mt 19:26

Choices, Freedom from Addiction

Isaiah 61

The Year of the LORD's Favour

1 The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners,

2 to proclaim the year of the LORD's favour and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn,

3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendour.

4They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations.

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen
